    How do students use multi-factor authentication (MFA) with DSC accounts?

Daytona State College has enabled multi-factor authentication (MFA) for student accounts using Microsoft MFA. MFA is required for all student accounts.

Microsoft MFA uses the Microsoft Authenticator smartphone app and/or your mobile phone number. These authentication methods are set up when you enroll in Self-Service Password Reset  (SSPR) so you must be enrolled in Self-Service Password Reset  (SSPR) to use Microsoft MFA.

You will be prompted for MFA when you log in to any online service at DSC, such as:

Depending on what you set as your default authentication method when enrolling in SSPR. You will see one of the following screens when logging in.

  1. If using the Microsoft Authenticator App, you will be prompted to open the app on your phone and accept the login attempt.

  2. If using your mobile phone number, you will receive a text message with a verification code to provide on this screen.
