How do I check if my course description and student learning outcomes are correct?

The best way to review your course description and student learning outcomes is to utilize the Document Repository. Below are the steps:

  1. In a new web tab, navigate to "Falcon Self-Service"
  2. Click on the "Falcon Self-Service" tile
  3. In the upper left-hand corner click on "Instructor Homepage" text
  4. A small drop-down menu will appear. Select "Employee Homepage" from the list
  5. Once the Employee Homepage loads, click on the tile titled "Document Repository"
  6. You should now arrive to the Daytona State College Document Repository. From the list of document folders, select the "Departments" folder

  7. Click "Academic Affairs" from the list of subfolders

  8. Click "Master Course Descriptions" from the next list of subfolders

  9. Click on your corresponding department from the list of subfolders

  10. Locate your course. Click on the corresponding pdf (this is the Master Course Description document)

  11. On Page 1 you will see the "Catalog Description" -- this is what we use for the course description in Simple Syllabus
    • If the description on syllabus and the master course description document match -- then you have successfully reviewed your course description!
  12. For your SLOs, these are also on page one under the "STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES" subheading
    • If the SLOs on the syllabus and the master course description document match -- then you have successfully reviewed your course description!
