The VA is considered the last method of payment meaning if you are awarded a scholarship or any other aid that is specific to tuition and fees only the amount reported to the VA will be the balance owed after the aid has been applied when using the Post 9/11 GI Bill ®. This is also to include employee tuition scholarships or waivers.

Example:

Tuition and fees is 1000. The scholarship for tuition and fees only is 500$. The amount reported to the VA will be 500.

$1000 (Tuition and Fees)

-$500 (Scholarship/aid that is for tuition and fees only)

$500 (Amount reported to the VA)v
